HPP Directors Celebrate Mandela Day with Soup Packs and Treats for Safety and Cleansing Team
Soup-er Heroes: HPP Directors Warm Hearts and Bellies on Mandela Day
For Mandela Day, the Directors of Hermanus Public Protection (HPP) expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the hard-working HPP Public Safety and Cleansing team. To honour their dedication, the directors provided soup packs and treats, recognising the team’s continuous efforts in keeping Hermanus safe and clean.
Mandela Day, celebrated annually on 18 July, encourages acts of kindness and community service, inspired by the legacy of Nelson Mandela. Through this thoughtful donation, the HPP Directors not only paid tribute to Mandela’s values but also strengthened the sense of community and togetherness in Hermanus.
The HPP Public Safety and Cleansing team members, essential to the smooth operation of the Hermanus Special Rating Area (HSRA) managed by HPP, received the packs with gratitude. This gesture highlighted the importance of acknowledging those who work tirelessly to maintain public spaces for the benefit of all residents and visitors.
By participating in Mandela Day in this meaningful way, the HPP Directors demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility and the well-being of the Hermanus community, embodying the spirit of unity and compassion that Mandela Day inspires.
Special thanks to Ann Wright, HPP Director of Cleansing, for coordinating the initiative; Food Lovers Market, Whale Coast Mall, for the fresh produce; and HPP service providers, Fidelity-ADT and Iphupha Cleansing Services, for their dedication.
